Before you go looking for a mastermind... first decide what you want.

What does the perfect mastermind look like?

Don't start Googling to figure it out. Take out a piece of paper and write it down. Get clear on what you want. 

What does it look like? Feel like? Who are you surrounded by? What perks does the mastermind have? What results will you see with them? How does your new peer group make you feel! 

THEN, you go looking. You'll find it comes to find you too.

And definitely, don't settle.

What questions should you ask a facilitator?

You've got your list. You know what you're looking for, and you're so excited to find the right group with all these amazing people you're about to meet! 

Here are some awesome questions to ask the facilitator to check it's cred!

1. What's the match process?
   • How are people matched together into small groups?
   • (Masterminds are groups of 8-10 people btw.)
2. What are the logistics?
   • What do we do before we start this mastermind?
   • What do we during the calls?
   • How do we meet? Online? In person?
   • How do I communicate with you and the team?
3. What do you do as a facilitator to organize?
   • Content : Call notes? Recordings?
   • Scheduling : Email reminders? Calendar invites?
   • Feedback : What's the framework for Hot Seats? What am I expected to do as a contributor?
4. What if I just don't feel like it's a fit?
   • You can apply this to anywhere. You feel good about something. You give it a shot, your best effort, but it's just not sitting right. Ask for the cancellation policy.
   • I say this because I know so many people who had the best intentions getting into a mastermind, and they weren't happy. Now they're paying $600 / $800 / $1000 a month for something they're not into anymore. They didn't ask for the cancellation policy; they're required to pay for the year.
5. Ask them anything that was on your list that they're not giving you.
   • Everything is negotiable. Everything.
   • Get out that list of your perfect mastermind.
   • If there's something that is not provided that you want... ask for it!
