Almost Cried in Pilates. Built a Better Program Instead
T Minus 6 Weeks to Launch.
Welcome to Week 3 of my NEWsletter - Unfiltered: The Creatorās Truth - the behind-the-scenes view into my next launch. Iām putting the ups and downs and no-movement moments publicly on display. Doing the inner work - out loud.
The other day, my bestie voice texted me and was like, āGIRL ā Read your newsletter. I need the inside scoop, please. Why are you launching a program? Like why now?ā
Hereās what I told her. (Yes, this means youāre getting the inside scoop too. And yes, this is literally my voice text transcribed. š)
I donāt know what the tipping point was. Iāve been thinking about it for years, and I just think now is the time because I've got team support, so the done-for-you agency side is covered. Itās the right time of year because people want to build a program now for a fall launch. And weāve built out so many AI tools internally that I can give to people in this cohort that I actually think it's achievable for them to do on their own. For a long time, itās been achieveable ā but you need like 20 hours a week to do it because itās so much freaking work. I didnāt want to set myself or my students up for failure with a really long program, but now I know with our AI Tools itās sure as sh*t achievable.
This Weekās Build ā Offer. Waitlist. Outline.
ā Finalized the Offer.
Offer is King. Or should I say Queen?
I like to think of the offer as the āDeal.ā
-
Whatās the promise of the program?
-
Whoās the ideal client?
-
Whatās the process/what do you get?
-
Whatās the investment?
-
How many other people will get this deal?
-
And how long is the deal on the table?
And to be totally clear ā the offer is the most important part of a beta launch. In a beta youāre testing everything, but youāre mostly testing the offer. Do people want this thing that youāre putting out there?
The Done-For-You agency work we do is a slam-dunk offer. It takes this really hard, complex thing and makes it as easy as possible. But a LOT of people are not qualified for it, because of the investment.
So, this program is my solution for that person: the expert whoās got the goods (the knowledge and experience) but not the 5-figure budget.
ā Built the Waitlist Funnel.
Itās live. Itās available. Youāre getting it next week. š
Iāve run the copy by a couple friends and clients. (Shoutout to Jeanne and Laksman!)
If you want a preview, or to be the #1 person on the list (other than my test accounts š¤£), email me ([email protected]).
ā Completed the Outline.
More on this next week, but letās just say there are 7 AI Bots Iām building⦠and those are just the bots. š¤š¤š¤š¤š¤š¤š¤
An Energy Check-In
I almost bawled my eyes out in Pilates today, surrounded by matching Vuori sets and Stanleys. Because the class was too hard for me (at least today).
If you workout, then you know some days youāre on it, unstoppable, Super(Wo)man vibes. And other days youāre, well, Steve Urkel tryna deadlift. Maybe you didnāt sleep great, have a stressful event coming up, or have to leave your dog for 4 nights. Or all three of those. (Hi, Iām talking about me!)
And today was that day⦠which is also the day my Pilates instructor Kat decided to do crazy sh*t like this⦠but with a loop around your foot too. #IYKYK My legs were shaking like a fresh leaf in a tornado. Hereās the thing, while it was a tough class, I did wayyyyyy worse than I usually would have.
Iāve been going to Pilates once or twice a week for over a year. When I started Pilates, I was like, āWhelp. Iām going to be terrible at this. And Iām just going to celebrate being terrible at this.ā But Iām not a n00b anymore. I see Kat every week - I know what sheās like. And yet, today, when I performed well below average (me vs. me), I almost lost it. Like, I was modifying the modifications, dude.
And it made me think about my students who are about to enter this group cohort. Theyāre going to have good weeks, and bad weeks. And the truth is, to get to ācourse completeā in our time frame requires weekly diligence. And some weeks you need the modifications of the modifications, and other weeks youāre Hulk Hogan in the 90s.
So, thank God today was sooooo sh*tty, because itās causing me to create this shiftā¦
A Shift I Made
Adding Learning Paths to the Program
Alright so think about your last visit to a water park. You climbed the gazillion stairs to get to the top of the slides with that why-is-this-so-heavy tube.
Once you get to the top, thereās four different slides. Two slides end up in one pool, and two slides end up in the other.
Theyāre all a bit different, some are steeper, others donāt have a big drop, some have lots of twisties, others are a straight shot. Whichever slide you take ā youāre ending up in a pool.
Thatās learning paths.
Everyoneās gotta climb the stairs - thatās learning the material. But how you use it, and where you end up - there are options.
Letās say itās āFramework Design Week.ā Your client load is light. Your spouse is handling soccer practice and walking the dog. The house cleaner came. You have so much capcity, and you go for the ātallest, longest, funnestā Slide.
But the next week, āOutline Week.ā you have 2 clients with emergencies, your youngest has the sniffles, and your spouse is traveling for work. Oh, and you went to make smoothies this morning to find mushy bananas. The fridge broke. Thank goodness thereās the āleast time requiredā Slide.
Put simply ā Iām giving good/better/best implementation options, so that you can have success no matter how you feel that week.
This does NOT mean that āBestā is always āBest.ā What might be ābestā for the long-term program design might not be ābestā for you given the week youāre having, the priorities on your plate. š Sometimes a āgoodā option is the best self-care.š
Normally, I donāt recommend Learning Paths in a beta program.
In fact, I might change my mind later. I can do that. Iām a CEO and sh*t.
AND Iām going to do my best to make it happen. This isnāt the biggest lift ā itās just being intentional during the program design and outline about where these type of learning paths are most beneficial - when the juice is worth the squeeze.
