The Launch Execution Plan
T Minus 8 Weeks to Launch.
Did you miss my last newsletter? Hereās the deal-io.
Iām launching a program in 8 weeks. My first since 2018.
Each week leading to launch Iām sharing this āMaking Ofā newsletter ā Unfiltered: the Creatorās Truth ā with you.
Itās going to get weird. And awesome. Because Iām going to be putting the ups and downs and no-movement moments on display.
Which, to be clear, is another thing that I donāt WANT to do. šBUT thereās a hurts-so-good feeling as I type every letter of every word of this newsletter. Without AI I might add.
If you want to catch up on last weekās Newsletter about how I turned down a job with Tony Robbins, click here.

This Weekās Build ā The Launch Execution Plan
The project board, aka the execution plan, aka my integrator-ness turned way the eff on.
We hear all the time, āA goal is a wish without a plan.ā And itās true.
First you need the goal.
Every Saturday, my mom would wake my brother and me up and ask, āSo what are your goals today?ā When we go on a trip, she still asks, āWhat are your goals on the trip?ā Girlfriend is the original GoalGetter, okay?
And then thereās a natural progression to⦠āWhatās the plan?ā
Enter my Dad. My Dad is a chef by trade. And if youāve ever cooked Thanksgiving, then you know that itās not the āforgot to buy cranberriesā thatāll make dinner three hours behind schedule ā itās the order and sequence of the meal preparation. Meaning ā you didnāt organize yourself with a list of what-happens-when.
So, (1) you gotta have goals and (2) you gotta create an execution plan. Thanks, Mom and Dad!

And yes, I use ClickUp. I recently won a ClickUp award, thank you very much. :)
An Energy Check-In
No major wobbles this week. The plan gives me a lot of certainty.
But there were minor bobbles. All the surrounding little things likeā¦
-
Course Platform: Kajabi or Circle
-
VIP Tier: Yay or Neigh.
-
The Course Name
-
Photoshoot?
Clients of ours usually think these are the biggies. Theyāre not. Theyāre the smallies.
The biggies are (1) the headline, (2) the outline, and (3) the alignment. There may be a few more, but the bottom line is that while the little things matter, spending biggie energy on them is a surefire way to drive yourself crazy.
Hereās how I deal when I start majoring in minor decisions.
-
Remind myself that itās not going to make or break the launch.
-
Energetically connect with my future students ā like I literally picture a little beam of light connecting from my heart to their hearts and tune the frequencies.
-
Put the minor decision as a task on my calendar to complete at a time when Iāll be more neutral.
A Shift I Made
Time Blocking Marketing Tasks⦠and Sticking To It
Ok, true confession time.
I used to unhealthily prioritize my clientsā businesses over my own.
Iāve got one of those āI can save the day.ā vibes. Or at least I used to.
Given the choice between marketing my biz or building their programs, I chose the latter.
At first, it was because there was too much work and not enough team.
Being a project-based agency has challenges that I wonāt bore you with. Suffice it to say that all of those challenges came out to play earlier this year. And I was putting out a fudgeton of fires.
So, in a hairy, scary move, we shifted our investment model.
And since doing itā¦
- ā Projects finish on time and in less time.
- ā Projects finish at a lower overall investment.
- ā Clients are more proud of their programs.
- ā The team is more excited about our work.
- ā The team is receiving better compensation.
Basically, it changed the entire game. It also freed up capacity for my team.
We can work with more people now. Honestly, without that move, I wouldnāt have the capacity to put out this program on July 22nd. (<< They call that an Easter Egg.)
Yet, I still allowed myself to get pulled into client work.
Of course, this was under the guise that āIām the only one who can do it.ā Everytime I think this, my very next brain thought is, āBullsh*t.ā
So, whatās the truth? I was CHOOSING to allow myself to get pulled into client work because itās where Iām comfy. Itās what Iām good at. Sound familiar?
And hereās the thing⦠Iām not a bad marketer. Iām actually kinda dangerous. And I donāt hate marketing. I actually kinda like it. (If you DO hate marketing, check out this weekās YT video.)
But when we go for stretches of NOT doing something, we forget.
|
So now, I put those tasks on my calendar⦠and I stick to them.
Like right now, for instance, if you looked at my time block, youād see āWrite Newsletter.ā And Iām doing it. Yay me!
- I donāt ābump themā when a fire comes up.
- I treat them as if theyāre my most important meeting.
- I donāt do calls on Monday or Friday, to reserve thinking time and tasks for this.
- I do these tasks during my most āon itā times of my day and my cycle, because I need to be the most āon itā to do them. I could write a course outline or facilitatorās guide in my sleep, so why give that the most premium slot?
And I would want my clients to do the same thing for their businesses. Iād want them to treat their marketing tasks for what they are ā connections to people who you can serve that are just entering your world or getting to know you.
Which begs the big oleā kinda spicy question: What do you need to hold the standard for in YOUR life and business that you want your clients to embody?
Maybe youāre doing it. Maybe youāre not. I wasnāt. Now I am.
No shame or guilt, just making moves. Ya feel me?
Thanks for coming to my TedTalk X Therapy Session Hybrid.
